POSITION SUMMARY
Implement and manage a strategic information design program that facilitates an exceptional client experience through increased product usability on all of the Sentinel business unit’s client-facing applications. Act as the primary user experience advocate and stakeholder for Sentinel’s customer-facing applications. Ensure that all applications are easy to use and learn, are able to handle errors appropriately and fully integrate market leading innovation.
PRIMARY DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
• Application Process Design – Design how processes and sub processes within an application should “flow” based on business requirements and usability best practices
• Interaction and Information Design – Design how controls on application screens are organized, optimizing the site layout, navigation and interaction (the “Feel” of the application). Lead efforts to iteratively conceptualize and visualize interface designs that protect users from the complexity of the underlying software architecture.
• Graphic Design – Design how the application should visually appear to the user. Assist in requirement decisions that determine where controls are placed, what types of fonts are used and what colors are used (the “Look” of the application)
• Usability
o Usability Testing - Plan and execute formal and informal testing of an application to measure ease of learning, efficiency of use, memorability, error frequency and severity and subjective satisfaction (the “How Easy a Site is to Use”). Ensure all client-facing applications meet user requirements and usability goals.
o Usability Reviews – Create and administer usability reviews:
Define usability goals & objectives for the project
Determine the number of distinct audiences for the product
Determine appropriate type of usability review to administer
Prepare participant selection survey and contact potential participants
Create pre- and post-review questionnaires
Prepare usability review scripts
Administer usability review
Observe/log user interactions
Prepare detailed report with recommendations for product improvement
Create “highlights” video
• Research and Product Validation
o Complete formal and informal research of what others in our industry are doing from a user experience perspective. Incorporate new developments in interface designs as appropriate.
o Support Product Management in customer-facing product validation to optimize market success and usability of the Informa IS Sentinel product suite.
• Subject Matter Expertise – Act as the main contact for usability and interface design issues.
• Product Management Support – Support the documentation, execution and deployment responsibilities of the individual product managers for client-facing application enhancements. Assist in the deployment of completed projects by aiding in the marketing of benefits of our usability and interface design initiatives.
• Public Web Site and Intranet Leadership – Lead the enhancement and maintenance of the company’s public web site and intranet initiatives.
QUALIFICATIONS
• Education – Recommend the following educational qualifications…
o College degree in Human Factors, Cognitive Psychology, Technical Communication, or related area (or equivalent experience).
o At least 3-4 years experience in conducting a variety of usability studies, including user and task analysis, field studies, heuristic evaluations, and design walkthroughs.
• Background – Strong business, analytical, and process improvement background
• Experience – 4 years of prior project management experience required

POSITION SUMMARY
Manage Quality Assurance professionals supporting one or more applications, or application platforms. Support and develop teams through mentoring, coaching and performance evaluation. Work with employees on training and career development plans. Contribute to the technology strategy of the company. The Manager will need to understand the business model and work closely with business partners to understand their goals. PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES
